Click for full-size image The Maralise Hotel is the subject of this postcard from 1923. The Maralise was located on the corner of West Main & South First. Built in 1908, it stood for sixty years before being torn down.

An older postcard from 1908 shows off the second Stanly County courthouse to be built in Albemarle. This courthouse was constructed in 1893 and served as the center for law & justice in the county until it too was torn down in 1972.
